Understanding Trauma

Expert and compassionate guidance on tools for managing trauma symptoms

Taught By Sharon Gold-Steinberg, PhD

Understanding Trauma:
Easing the Drama of Trauma Symptoms

A course for therapists or clients — a companion guide to teach you psychoeducation and regulation skills.

Allow us to resource you with strengths-based psychoeducation and mind-body strategies to effectively manage the symptoms of trauma. This 7-episode course models compassionate language to explain the impact of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and to teach interventions to halt flashbacks, cope with intense emotions or numbing, resource urges for self-harm, and diminish feelings of shame.

Watch the first episode for free to get a feel for Sharon’s wisdom and teaching style. Sharon demonstrates how she offers a compelling explanation to clients about how trauma impacts the nervous system and contributes to the symptoms of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder.

Psychologist Sharon Gold-Steinberg, PhD, shares with you the language and strategies she has culled from the masters, and her own 30 years of clinical experience, to support you in easing your clients’ distress and enhancing your own sense of efficacy in healing human suffering.

Many therapists encourage their clients also to purchase these videos to reinforce and deepen their learning outside of sessions.

Testimonials

“I have been working on trauma issues with my therapist for the past 2 years. She recently recommended your video series to me and I wanted to let you know that I have found the videos incredibly helpful. Your video series is so validating and makes me feel less isolated with my trauma. In addition, I am a visual learner and although I have discussed many of the concepts with my therapist, I love being able to watch the videos over and over until I can remember them. I have especially found the Halting Flashbacks and the Calming Down discussions especially helpful and often start my day with your Calming Down video to set the tone for my day. I am really grateful to you for making this video series and for your compassion for trauma survivors.”
